family of four in a gorgeous spot {topsail island family portraits}
The most common question after someone books a family portrait session is “what should we wear?”. This darling family is a great example of my advice. I like to keep it simple, coordinating but not matching. Pick a color or two. Add in a neutral and mix it all around. Put maybe one person in a pattern such a plaid or stripe. I also advise the mother to choose her outfit first and then dress everyone else to coordinate to her. If mom feels cute in her outfit, she will automatically have a better smile and enjoy the session more.
I love the laid-back style of this family, they were wonderful and easy to photograph. Sometimes when I do sessions with older children like this I am amazed at the difference from the sessions with toddlers. My gratitude and love for the families I get to photograph is immediate. I loved spending some one on one time with these guys. Capturing their love and this moment in their lives was an honor!
