I loved spending the day with this beautiful family and photographing their lifestyle family portrait session. Some of you might be asking what does a “lifestyle family session” entail? Well this is a session all about playing and relaxing together as a family in your own space. These images are incredibly special because they capture not just your faces, but the home you have created. There will be little to no posing when your have a lifestyle session. I want you to kick back and act natural.

Of course that can be easier said than done. If you have never thought of having this kind of session because you worry your house isn’t pretty enough, or your kids wont behave well enough, I want you to let all those things go. Just enjoy some time snuggling with your family on the bed or couch and be present with one another.

This family is one of our dear friends and photographing them always makes me happy. The kids know me and are able to be a bit silly with Miss Anna there no problem. I spent about a hour trooping around their house and capturing a couple different locations and activities. Dancing in the kitchen? Check. Sink bath? Check. Story and wrestling time? Done. These are the everyday activities and tiny moments of a small family. Now they will always have these images to remember when they had four small children and were pulling their hair out. I am so grateful for this type of session!
