Time. What a beast it is. As we prepare for our last weekend as a family of six living in our home I can’t help but feel sadness and joy all tangled up and combined.

The last 18 years of my journey as a mother have taught me to sit in moments like this one and breathe it in. I shot this about two months ago on our summer vacation, and it was just one of the moments where I clearly saw. Saw how each of them was different and the same. Saw how hard they are each trying to discover their own paths and purpose in life.

My oldest just lay there with his head in my lap, and I knew he was feeling it too. The fleeting moment of childhood.

My gratitude overwhelms me as I watch them grow. #all4oneframe

Mickey 🐭 moment

Can you find the mickeys? This is probably one of my favorite frames from our Mexico City trip. I turned and captured it quickly. I love the split frame, the height difference between my son and the random Mexican man and of course the repeating Mickey.

But I also love the tension as my son is almost out of the right side of the frame. To me it represents him embarking on his own journey and path. He graduated high school earlier this year and today he starts training for a 2 year mission for our church @churchofjesuschrist . He will serve in Santa Cruz, Bolivia and speak Spanish, so it was also fitting to me that this was taken in a Spanish speaking country. My mama heart has so many emotions today. If you would like to follow along with his journey, I will be managing and sharing an IG page for that @adam.ras.mission ❤️

Give me the wild children with their bare feet and sparkling eyes. The restless churning climbers. The wild ones using their outside voices, singing all the way home. Give me the wonder-filled glorious mess makers dreaming of mountains and mud, aching to run through a field of stars. 💫
